Inspiration for Design
Made up of a dynamic blend of talent from both sides of the border, El Banco’s Design Team has designed a stunning list of accomplishments around the globe. Together, these exceptional individuals have honed our timeless style – one that draws on the past and yet opens up traditional architecture to take in and celebrate the natural beauty of the land.
Bi-lingual and bi-cultural interior designer Rachel Horn had the rare good fortune of being raised in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Schooled in the United States, Rachel wrote her college thesis on Spanish Colonial architecture, the same style that surrounded her during her childhood. After a number of years working for accomplished interior designers and architects in Los Angeles, she answered the call of Mexico and returned to set up an interior design practice. Since then, she has established herself as one of Mexico’s top interior designers. Rachel's focus at El Banco has been to contribute to the interior architecture and develop the interior design for the Beach Villas.

Juan Munguia, an independent architect out of Guadalajara, has architectural creations throughout Mexico, the United States, and Europe. Having worked on El Banco since the beginning, he was the mastermind behind the development’s low-density master plan. Juan’s contemporary-Mexican style juxtaposes traditional Spanish Colonial architecture with modern elements resulting in dynamic structures that honor the past and celebrate the future. His current focus at El Banco is the design and construction of two Beach Villas, as well as overseeing infrastructure development throughout El Banco.
